The Corrosion Control Team Lead may be responsible for:
Providing corrosion control services to ensure 100 % compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements for pipeline and terminal assets for a specified geographic area.
Supervising 3 - 5 technicians
Providing direction, advice, and support to corrosion control specialists working for you in your area of responsibility.
Providing leadership to an area corrosion control team as a working supervisor.
Solving varied and challenging corrosion problems, while implementing technical solutions and technical programs provided by Operating Support Engineering leadership.
Being accountable for all work performed, including technical work performed under regulations designed to safeguard the public.
Preparing budgets for corrosion control programs in geographical area and completing work within the approved budgets.
Evaluating corrosion mechanisms, while testing, designing, evaluating, installing, documenting, and maintaining corrosion control systems and providing required record keeping.
Coordinating the efforts of contractors.
Participating in Department of Transportation and other agency audits/investigations.
Travel area's will be Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts
Travel requirements would range from 25% to 50%
Qualifications:
Associates Degree and/or 10 years direct experience with current corrosion control technology in lieu of degree
NACE Corrosion Control Certification
Valid driver's license
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Ability and willingness to perform/comply with following:
Willing and able to climb to the top of tanks and other facility assets.
Willing and able to raise and transport articles weighing up to 40 pounds.
Willing and able to walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain.
Willing and able to work outside in harsh weather conditions.
Willing and able to use hand and power tools.
Willing and able to understand and use work equipment manuals and maps.
Willing to work alone a high percentage of the time without direct supervision.
Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in Corrosion Technology
Sufficient work experience, performance, understanding, and drive to be a successful independent contributor, with high problem solving abilities and strong supervisory/leadership skills.
2 years of Supervisory experience
Ability to supervise a group of four Corrosion Control Specialists over a large geographic area, while also taking direction and working a majority of the time without direct supervision.
Capability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, while making technical program and regulatory compliance decisions (at times after consulting with higher-level corrosion professionals within the company).
Strong communication skills (oral & written)
Computer proficient (ability to perform the skill with limited assistance) with SAP, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Flexible with locations where work is to be performed
