Our geotechnical engineers, together with our construction specialists, develop the comprehensive testing quality control programs that clients need, giving the assurance of product quality that is essential to any construction project.
 
Our materials engineers develop specifications that are unique to each project, ensuring that the required level of quality is achieved using cost-effective, environmentally sound solutions.
 
We apply our diverse range of competencies and skills, to achieve practical outcomes for our clients.
 
Responsibilities:
 
The Geotechnical Group in Calgary is seeking an energetic Geomaterials Technologist to join their team of professionals in providing superior service to our valued clients.
 
You will work with a team of engineers and other technologists/technicians performing general geotechnical responsibilities. Duties consist of both field and laboratory work and will include - but not be limited to - the following:
 
  • Conduct a full range of laboratory tests in soils/concrete/asphalt lab
  • Concrete field testing
  • Compaction monitoring
  • Asphalt inspection
  • Construction Quality control/Quality assurance
  • Contractor supervision
  • Other general field related duties.
  • Additional opportunities exist to engage in project work, data review and the compilation of field and laboratory data, and preparation of detailed reports.
 
Qualifications: 
 
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative and will excel under minimal supervision. You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment and skilled in time management and multi-tasking.
  • Possess a Diploma in Civil Engineering technology or equivalent and 1-5 years of relevant field and laboratory experience.
  • A valid Alberta Driver's License is required and a Driver's abstract may be requested.
