[Company] presently has openings for enthusiastic individuals to fill the position of Well Testing Operator. The Operator is an entry level position to gain operational experience in maintaining and operating various components of the Production Testing Services equipment. Working under the direct supervision of the Sr. Operator and/or Supervisor, the Operator will assist in safely carrying out rig-in/rig-out procedures, accurate data collection, reporting and performing general duties as assigned.
This position is based out of our Grande Prairie location.
Primary Responsibilities
- Help Supervisor prepare and load equipment
- Ensure you are equipped with all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and clothing (steel toed boots, Fire Retardant coveralls, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection )
- Arrive punctually and be prepared to work for the duration of the shift
- Perform rig-in duties as assigned by the senior operator and/or supervisor
- Perform maintenance work as assigned by the Senior Operator and/or Supervisor
- Consult with the supervisor before proceeding with jobs for which instruction or proper training has not been provided
- Operate equipment as assigned by Senior Operator and/or Supervisor
- Perform equipment maintenance and repairs as assigned by senior Operator and/ or Supervisor
- Accurately gather well data and record in a neat organized manner
- Perform rig-out duties as assigned by Senior Operator and/ or Supervisor
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment under direct supervision of the Supervisor
- Utilize Self Study program
- Maintain close contact with the Supervisor regarding work assignments, promptly report all concerns regarding equipment to the Supervisor
- Report all incidents and accidents to the Supervisor
- Maintain open, professional communications with all crewmembers and company representatives
- Follow all safety rules and regulations including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
- Operate company vehicle in safe manner following safe driving ensuring it is kept clean and maintained
General:
- Available on 24 hour call, and prepared for work when on call
- Responsible for good housekeeping and cleanliness on location and in the shop
- Thoroughly learn the job and become familiar with the jobs of those around, in order to understand how individual actions may affect the safety of others
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- Familiarity with the oil and gas industry and all related production and or well testing equipment & operations
- Familiarity with drilling rigs and or production platforms / land based production gathering stations
- Ability to communicate with people at all levels
- Maintain good Written and Spoken English Skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment
- Prepared to travel and work on overseas assignments
- Additional Related Certification / Training Courses
- Minimum 2 years experience working in a well testing and or production operations environment would be a definate asset. Class 5 driver's license and a Driver's Abstract
- Valid H2S Ticket and First Aid certification
- Willing to be "ON-CALL"
