Job Description
Our Client has a vacancy for a Geologist, based in Bakersfield, California, USA. This is a contract position. Please note candidates MUST be eligible to work in the USA.
Responsibilities
Identify additional development and exploration opportunities, and improve recovery from existing productive reservoirs, applying your skills and using state of the art tools to map and describe reservoirs, participate in volumetric and reserves estimations, and provide geoscience support to a fast-paced drilling and development program.
Qualifications/Experience
Masters/Bachelors degree in Geology or equivalent.
Previous experience in petroleum exploration and developmental geology.
Experienced in planning, drilling, completing and reworking well operations.
Experienced in integration of geologic, geophysical, engineering, and production data.
Strong understanding of depositional environments and facies.
Proficient in reservoir description/core data analysis.
Experienced with reservoir surveillance and optimization in commingled reservoirs.
Experienced with EOR projects.
Proficient in reservoir characterization, including input to reservoir simulation models.
Ability and willingness to mentor new geoscientists.
Strong understanding of industry economic and financial drivers.
Proficient in LandMark OpenWorks and StratWorks software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
CA (San Joaquin Valley) experience.
Proficient in petrophysical analysis.
Proficient in Petrel 3D Modeling software.
Proficient working with large well datasets.
Experienced in marine clastic and siliceous shale reservoirs.
Proficient with LandMark Dynamic Surveillance System software.
