Job Description:
This position is for a environmental test technician, specializing in testing electromechanical assemblies while exposed to extreme temperatures, shock and vibration. The ideal candidate will be familiar with various techniques for producing these extreme environments, have experience with common electronic test equipment and have a good understanding of the downhole drilling environment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Conduct temperature, vibration, shock and combined environment testing
Produce reports detailing testing conducted
Collaborate with engineers on suitable test apparatus
Maintain and repair environmental test equipment
Participate in the specification, construction and commissioning of new environmental test equipment
Required Skills:
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Must be able to use common electrical test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes and power supplies
Familiar with environmental testing machinery
Should be mechanically inclined
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Must demonstrate a strong support role attitude
Easily gets along with others
Highly motivated; readily acquire and effectively apply new skills and information; equally productive working either individually or as member of a team
Detail-oriented; careful planner; able to efficiently fulfill multiple, concurrent responsibilities
Able to life 40 pounds
Required Experience/Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required, Junior College or equivalent qualification preferred.
Experience:
4-5 years in an environmental testing role
LWD or wireline service company experience preferred
Work Conditions:
Overtime will be required as needed. This job will include intermittent travel
