Job Description:
This position is responsible for developing embedded software to be used in the next generation of MWD and LWD tools.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Designing of electronics for down hole sensors; development of real-time firmware and debugging embedded software for use in data acquisition subsystems, MWD and LWD tools.
Assist with defining requirements and writing specifications for embedded software and hardware at a sub-system level.
Effectively document all code developed.
Duties will include design, testing, documentation and product support of hardware for use in a down hole environment.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required.
Masters degree preferred.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Solid understanding of electronics.
Knowledge of Motorola processors is preferred.
Ability to develop designs from concept to final production.
Ability to develop in assembly language and high level languages.
Ability to understand and enhance code written by others.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be self motivated.
Must be a team player.
Able to work without daily structure.
Required Experience/Experience:
3-5 years experience in the development of embedded software.
Experience with real time data acquisition and control systems.
Design of electronics for high temperature use is a plus.
Work Conditions: Overtime will be required as needed.
