Job Description:
Under broad direction, acts as the project manager in leading a multi-disciplinary team in executing various product development projects and/or initiatives (e.g., standards, best practices, lessons learned). Will manage a team of 6-12 employees.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring that the completed product meets the defined customer requirements.
Establish and meet the project schedule, managing project costs, and directing the entire team to a successful commercial product launch.
Supervises engineers and other technical staff members.
Coordinates with other groups / departments in obtaining and disseminating information that is essential for successful product development and commercialization.
Provides technical guidance to the group.
Conducts goal setting and performance appraisals of personnel.
Assists in establishing annual budgets and in tracking project costs.
Utilizes project management skills and tracking tools in the organization to ensure successful execution of project assignments.
Manages the development team to ensure on time completion of projects.
Responsible for identifying and filling technological and functional requirements.
Manages outside consultants in developing solutions and coordinate project design and milestone reviews.
 
Work Conditions: Overtime will be required as needed. This job will include intermittent travel.
 
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Must possess a thorough understanding of the supported technology and broad understanding of the associated development tools.
Must be able to understand and promote company's quality directives.
Must be able to incorporate reliability analysis and promote optimum use of development tools and standards during the design process.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to effectively manage people.
 
Required Experience/Education:
Bachelor degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required.
 
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of related experience in the downhole industry.
Proven leadership experience is required.
