Job Description:
Design, implement, test and evaluate analog & digital electronic circuits for complex, high temperature systems related to LWD/MWD tools.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Initiate or contribute to relevant research activities for testing of circuits and components. Review possible solutions for improving system designs relating to reliability, standards, or compatibility.
Effectively use mathematical and analytical tools (simulation, graphical, test and measurement instrumentation) to evaluate design performance.
Participate with or initiate electrical design tasks, performance testing and test evaluations. Develop and design test equipment.
Make recommendations for improvements to design managers as necessary.
Provide guidelines and advice to junior engineers for designs and commonality of material and component selections.
 
Work Conditions:
Overtime will be required as needed.
 
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Possess considerable knowledge and experience with design of analog and digital electronic circuits for complex, high temperature systems.
Familiarity with embedded system architecture hardware.
Specialized knowledge of LWD/MWD tool requirements and operations including the acquisition of measurements, data processing, and data representation.
Strong knowledge of package and signal integrity design practices.
Proficient in generating and writing technical documents, including specification, procedures, and test results.
Must demonstrate strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
Must have excellent written and verbal technical communication skills and ability to communicate with employees at all levels.
Must be a self motivated team player.
 
Required Experience/Education:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering is required. Masters level degree preferred.
 
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years related design experience required.
