Job Description:
This position is for an experienced petrophysicist/log analyst who wants to apply his skills to support an LWD company. Preference will be given to those with logging-while-drilling experience, although this is not a requirement. Good communication and presentation skills, customer contact and multi-disciplinary interaction are a must, as is the ability to work independently and document technical work in writing.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Petrophysical Support/Log Analysis/Log Quality Control for Worldwide LWD Operations.
Aplication development for LWD data Petrophysical input in LWD R&D projects Technical marketing of LWD services and log applications.
Education:
BS/MS/PhD in geology, geophysics, petroleum engineering, or related field.
Experience:
A minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience. LWD experience preferred, but extensive wireline openhole log experience is a minimum. Good understanding of resistivity and nuclear log physics.
Good understanding of the general applications of wireline and LWD logs. Formation tester tool and pressure transient analysis experience is a plus, as is image data processing and analysis.
Some level of sonic waveform understanding and processing is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Must be proactive, able to take initiative, and be a self starter.
Must have a sound understanding of petrophysics must be proficient in manipulating log data using commercial log analysis packages (HDS2000 experience preferred) Handle multiple assignments and effectively prioritize work in a fast paced environment.
Attention to detail is paramount.
Work Conditions: Overtime will be required as needed. This job will include intermittent travel.
