Job Description:
This position oversees ongoing procurement, contracting and warehouse business activities for assigned location. Develops and implements consistent procurement, commercial and materials management process. Manages staff (council, coach, train, guide, and discipline as needed) to optimize performance and provides work leadership and process mentoring to all subordinates Procurement personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops short to long term strategic planning, as well as daily tactical management of resources to support all refinery operating groups.
- Ensures all activities are in accordance with company policy and approved working practices and controls.
- Tracks and reports any value created by Procurement and implements total system cost concepts at refinery.
- Develops strategies necessary to optimize plant supply chains that are consistent with ongoing strategic initiatives.
- Develops processes at refinery, which reflect consistency and are integrated with corporate leveraging activities and related business processes.
- Coordinates with refining and other corporate personnel to identify, develop and utilize strategic value creating opportunities.
Education and Experience:
BA/BS degree in Materials Management, Purchasing or related field or equivalent experience typically required. Professional certification (CPIM, CPM, etc.) typically required. 10 years in materials management and/or procurement typically within energy industry. 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
Special Skills:
- Working knowledge of procurement principles
- Working knowledge around theory and practice of marketing, finance, operations, accounting, MIS and organizational behavior.
- Leadership and team building
- ERP/SAP system
