The GIS Specialist will report to the Mapping and Drafting Manager and will:
- Compile information from multiple sources to provide hard copy and digital maps and facility plans for the oil and gas industry
- Produce maps and plans using ESRI and CAD programs
- Manage their time to complete projects in accordance with regulatory and client deadlines
Qualifications:
- 3 - 5 years experience in the oil and gas industry
- A technical diploma in GIS, Drafting or Geomatics would be beneficial
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS products
- A thorough knowledge of AutoDesk Map 3D 2007...
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Experience with MapGuide
- Experience with SQL database driven environments is an asset
- Some experience with remote sensed data and applications
- Ability to work independently, while maintaining a strong team commitment
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects at different stages and work each to completion within set deadlines
- Desire to pursue a long-term career in a dynamic, supportive environment
