• Our Malaga operations are in need of an experienced Junior Logistics Officer. Reporting to the Supply Chain manager, the position is responsible for the logistics function including the packaging, handling, transport, and receiving of freight and maintenance of associated records.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the below but not limited to:

• Maintaining communications with freight forwarders, customs agents and transport companies.
• Assisting with selection of the best third party transport and logistics providers and monitor performance of suppliers.
• Maintaining a daily plan/schedule of anticipated goods inwards and outwards movements.
• Maintaining a roster of warehouse personnel to ensure handling is covered by appropriately trained and licensed staff.
• Ensuring that handling equipment, forklifts, vehicles and tools are available and maintained.
• Coordinating Logistics functions with Purchasing and Inventory functions.

To be successful you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Solid working history and knowledge of inventory and treatment of stock and fixed assets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Competent in the use of email and web browsers.
• Competent in the use of all Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
• Previous exposure to stock control / accounting software packages or ERP databases such as SAP or Oracle, ideally JDE.

Preferred skills and experience:

• General knowledge of [Company] products and services.
• Knowledge of effects on accounting side of the business (e.g. cost coding, depreciation, utilization of assets.)
• Experience with transport logistics including import/export.
