Horizon Oil Sands
Horizon Oil Sands is an exciting part of our growth.  Full production capacity for Phase 1 is 110,000 bbl/d of fully upgraded, light, sweet synthetic crude oil.  We will see incremental production gains throughout the completion of future expansion and debottlenecking, with targeted full facility capacity of approximately 250,000 bbl/d.  Further phases of expansion will bring the ultimate capacity to 500,000 bbl/d.

This position is based in Fort McMurray, Alberta and is eligible for:
• Relocation to Calgary or Fort McMurray

THE OPPORTUNITY:
Our Horizon Oil Sands operation is expanding with project spending for 2012 forecasted at approximately $1.55 billion with future projected spending of approximately $2 - 2.5 billion each year for the next several years.

The Reliability Mine Maintenance Engineer will utilize the Canadian Natural computerized maintenance programs to develop and monitor the mining equipment maintenance health plan. The role will set maintenance schedules and identify the supporting resources to guide the activities of maintenance supervision and staff.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
• Gather, manage and analyze information from on-board vehicle systems as well as using other predictive maintenance tools such as oil analysis to assist in the equipment management process
• Oversee equipment and component failure analysis and provide quality technical reports on component failures and performance of contracted fleets
• Assist in providing information for weekly and monthly reporting requirements
• Sustain effective communication with all relevant internal and external parties for all mine maintenance issues
• Participate in regular meetings between Maintenance and Operations to review equipment availabilities and reliability issues

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Typically 5+ years of related industry experience with Engineering Degree
• Registered or eligible for registration as a professional engineer with APEGA
• Familiarity with and understanding of:
   o Heavy equipment design, manufacturing or maintenance
   o Working in an industrial environment such as mining or oil and gas
   o Working with commercial contracts
   o Computer maintenance planning programs and the use of the Microsoft Office Applications
